Cadillac and Spine Corrector

Course Description

This course provides thorough instruction of all introductory and intermediate repertoires and introduces the entire original Pilates sequence.  Students will learn the key focus, specific muscle actions, joint mechanics, energetic applications, common compensations, precautions, modifications & cueing techniques and transitions for each exercise.  Students will learn how to design a specific Cadillac & Spine Corrector sequence for individual work based on postural/movement screening and when to refer clients for further evaluation when appropriate in order to enhance client's progress in integrating Pilates into their lives.

Course Requirements: 
40 hours didactic/lab curriculum & pre/post-course assignments

Pre-requisites:
Working knowledge of functional anatomy & six months of movement teaching
Completion of Integrated Balance Contrology Fundamentals
Completion of Integrated Balance Contrology Mat OR Mat certification through another company
Minimum of ten hours of Pilates Cadillac movement experience

Practicum Hours
15 hours of observation on Cadillac (5 may be video)/10 hours on Spine Corrector (3 may be video)
5 hrs of independent study assignments
25 hrs of self-movement practice on Cadillac/Tower & 10 hrs of self-movement practice on Spine Corrector
15 hours of practice teaching on Cadillac/Tower& 10 on Spine Corrector

Continuing Education:
1.6 credits through ACE, 1.6 credits through BOC for ATC, 8.0 credits through the Pilates Method Alliance for currently certified instructors only
